The New York Times opines on Wrath of the Lich King
The New York Times has covered WoW before, and a couple days ago, they did again. Via sister site Massively, w buy gold in wow e find this article by writer Seth Schiesel. In it, he provides yet another paean for Blizzard's amazing work on the expansion, free wow gold guide and touches a little bit on the casual versus hardcore dichotomy.
In Burning Crusade, he was the hardcore, racing to level 70, eschewing sleep and sustenance to get those server firsts, eventually causing him to burn out and quit the game for a time. In Wrath of the Lich King, he's been a casual wanderer, enjoying leveli buy cheap wow gold ng slowly, surrounded by the other hoi polloi and "journeyman adventurers" taking the game at a slower pace. In the end, though, what pleases him most is that the friendships. The article is a nice little testimonial of the way this game has shaped our lives and forged and strengthened friendships, and it's certainly a nice read on a cold Saturday afternoon like today, whether you're casual or hardcore. After all, we're all just players.
The rest of the wow power leveling fight is all about spores. Loatheb summons spores throughout the fight (more frequently on heroi wow + powerleveling c) and the spores give a beneficial debuff, Fungal Creep, increasing crit chance by 50% and reducing threat caused by zero to the five closest people. Other than the tank, everyone in the raid should get this debuff, so organise into groups (it's usually easier to simply start at group 1 and work through to group 5, or vice versa depending where your highest DPS members are). When a spore appears, the group whose turn it is -- and that group alone -- should bunch up next to the spore and kill it to get the debuff. Note that the spores have wow power leveling low health and only apply the debuff in a short-range area, so don't be too hasty or too late to move.
It helps to have someone calling out which group's turn it is, although boss mods can do this. In short, keep yourself alive, get spores when it's your wow gold turn and use the healing window wisely.
Differences between normal and heroic: Spore frequency higher on heroic In next week's Ready Check we'll be venturing into the Deathknight Quarter, so stay tuned!
